MD80 driver

It seems quite a lot of you are struggling to find the MD80 drivers so I thought I’d put up this page with links to where people have found them available for download.

Last updated: 26 January 2012

Latest link: http://www.playdeluxe.de/downloads/treiber/20001192.zip

I have been informed that this works with Windows 7 32bit and Windows 8.1

If you find the link broken or I’ve linked to your site and you want it removed, please get in contact.

I got the same error but found some instructions that helped for me:
“When you connect MD80 with PC to be a PC camera, please keep both the power
switch and sound trigger switch on, and a new item named “Standard Camera” could
be found inside the file of My Computer”.

Just purchased one of these MD-80 DV cameras. Didn’t receive any kind of “Driver” cd with the purchase. Do I need to buy this driver before I can download video I’ve recorded? Limited knowledge of this kind of stuff!

    • Marulak Manurung says:

My MD-80 did not require any driver at all, my WinXP Pro just installed it as a UVC…USB Video Camera. The MD-80 just pop up into My explorer as a webcam, double click on it and voila! Live streaming straight from MD-80 looks good in 640×480 res. Also took some picture, even the JPG quality was not so good. But for video chatting that’s quite good enough. But I found the video contrast was too high, but there’s no setting I can change to tweak the quality even when using Amcap.
For your information, my MD80 has Anyka AK1120 chipset. I think it’s why it needs no driver. If you have SunPlus chipset on it, probably it requires driver.

Works like a charm on my win7 Pro x64. I have the fake MD80, but the only problem i had with it was the webcam feuture. I found a way to solving the date/time problem partly, without any modification etc. I marked the tag.txt file as read only and it worked a couple of times without having to set the time and date. Still have to do it when battery power is getting to low or after many uses. 🙂

Does this works with window 8?

  9. Dré Jansen says:

    I bought the camera.
After charge, it worked for several minutes.
Then, it stopped and does not work anymore.
    Other SD card, no way.
Drive download and now I can read the memory, but no recording.
What is ‘mode’? What can I do with it?
So help me out, the supplier does not send another one.
He only wants to give a 20% refund, so the damage is still 80%.
I want to have another camera, I want to return this not working device.
A friend if my bought the same camera, he has an CD included.
I asked for the CD, but my supplier said that there is no CD included.
The manual says there is a driver on CD in the package.
I downloaded the driver from this site and now I can only read the memory.
Please tell me what to do.
Best regards, Dré Jansen (The Netherlands.)

I have an MD80. At first when I would hit record the camera worked fine. When I would plug the camera into the computer to watch the video I could see files from the recordings I made but it would show as 0 bytes. The manual I had said to do a fat32 formatting on the camera so I did. Still having some problems with it showing as 0 bytes. When it doesn’t show as 0 bytes none of my computers (tried 3) would play the video file. I keep getting an error message saying it is an unrecognized format etc. I tried it with a computer that has Windows 7, as well as the newest windows software and still it won’t let me watch the videos. Please help

Got my MD 80 or most probably a clone this month. It came without a micro SD or a driver CD. Just the lanyard, brackets, silicone cover and instruction manual. I added an 8GB micro SDHC card (Sandisk) and it worked just fine. As to the date stamp the Tag.TXT appeared in the memory card automatically the first time it was connected to the computer and showed date as follows 2012:03:05 22:30:00 and the date stamp I got on the video was 2009:03:24 24:45:00. I backed up the TAG.TXT file, edited one copy in the computer as 2013:10:12 13:00:00 and saved it. Then the file was cut and paste to the microsdHC card. From then on the date stamp in the videos started showing the current date and time. I use it as a motorcycle cam and I hope the mini cam lives long enduring the vibrations and all. Have a good day to you all.

    Hey guys,

My friend bought the MD80 camera and his camera makes many files while recording each file has around 20 – 30 minutes recorded but he wants to make only 1 file with longer video. Do you guys know why it happens and how to set it up?

    Regards

    • Guto Vilanova says:

I mean how to fix it..?

    • IMn2IT2 says:

FAT32 had a problem with file sizes exceeding 4GB, especially problems with AVIs. So capture software used to break my recordings into 4GB segments. You can find free software (and all the info you can handle) to join the segments together into one file, and edit them to boot, at VideoHelp.com and Doom9.com. The best free app I ever used was TMPGEnc, and there’s plenty of other good free apps you can find there too. But, the caveat is you have to work on a hard drive formatted with NTFS.

All right with this driver. Works fine with my 04FC:1528 USB device on my Sony VAIO SVE1513J1E with Windows 8.1 ( x64 ).

    Thanks you for all !!.

  15. Ric says:

From what I’ve read th eonly thing I can see as the problem is when you download the driver, at least for Win7, you need to make sure it installs to the Program (x86) folder, NOT the normal Program folder, that will try to run it as a 64 bit program.

  16. Manuel says:

    No problem in Windows 8.1

  17. Kenny says:

doesnt connect the camera to my PC also when i open the software it said “sorry, you have no video capture hardware”.

My Md80 works good, no CD, but I just plug it into my PC and can play it using Windows 10. The only issue that I have is that it stops recording after 10 minutes and 10 second. Anyone else have this issue?

    • andre liebenberg says:
